777 -Occult symbols on Page 7 of THE DEFENDERS #98

Greeting from the Underworld.
As I was looking through my copy of Marvel THE DEFENDERS #98 because I noticed the MAN-THING on the cover and was looking for images for my Green Men post. Page # 7 stood out like a symbolic sour thumb. The context of this single page stands alone in the Man-Thing plot, as setting up a subplot to the next issue that sadly, I do not own.
At a casual glance I noticed, we have 3 (sacred number) young boys (innocent souls) going down into whats left of a burned down building. A symbolic descent into the underworld. Notice the X's (underworld symbol) all over in the debris of wood and pipes below.
The boy with the 7 on his jersey appears 3 times on the page with the 7 visible creating the highly symbolic 777. http://www.ridingthebeast.com/numbers/nu777.php
He picks up the "Red Cape", mystery shroud, uses a MagiK Name, and seems to vanish.
Only to reveal a possible Blue Green Man Reptilian shape changer with a Crown of Thorns...or "Horned Beast." So I looked a little deeper and saw...
The boy with the orange hat and blond hair, is shown from the back  with a part in his hair suggesting a female hairstyle, an erogenous look, combined with the hat shape and I'm seeing  hermaphroditic God Hermes/Mercury resonator, mentions the Holy Cow.

The Boy with the 7 on his shirt also has 3 strips on each arm, this reminds me of the symbols for "The Supernatural",,or "Touched by the Supernatural." 3 slash marks.
The boy holds up double devil 666 hand signs

and says
 "I'm Mandrake!", resonating the
Mandrake root and Mandrake the Magician. The cape creats a 2 shape as it seems to teleport,,or perhaps even kill the boy, creating 72, or 27 back words,,evoking the 27 club energy.
666 shapes in the cape, and the masonic "G", the word SEX too, have fun looking for it. As the boys run up the plank, it is drawn in a pyrimid shapw with the head and arms coming out at the cap stone area,, galactic center, highest level, all seeing. The caption reads, Pure TERROR!, but the HA-HA-HA! seeming to came from the reptilian( foreshadowing to me the 7 jersey boy is more than meets the eye, a shape-changer of sorts having a laugh at the other 2 boys expense) could very well be the boys as they attain enlightenment after they descended and arose from the underworld after facing their fears..I'm positive there is more I have yet to notice or figure out.

This other page from DC comics "JSA THE NEW AGE " TPB, I posted last year from an old face book sync group I was in for a short time. Highlighting 777 as well, (on the sun symbol helicopters),but as I went to post it here to reference the 777 sync, I notice the news team in the story are flying above a burning building, perhaps the building the boys are exploring a few days later in archetype land? The guy with the magik number 24 jersey also has the super natural strips too. Small sync world.

"And in 1901 he finds this curious origami sculpture in another garden.
It feels familiar and strange at the same time.
In 1009 he teaches his granddaughter to fold paper and in 1997 his great great grandson discovers the same shape in the key to time travel.
He makes the final crease and folds time.
And folds space.

Silent thunder strikes the water.
"Of course." he thinks. Then the opposite of thoughts begins.

Now. It is August 6th, 8:16 am. It was 1945. "Of course."

Green Men

!!!The King of the Green Men!!!
"The realm of this noble king is Ytene, where he rules over the vegetative life forces of an ancient woodland where humankind worked in cooperation for countless centuries. It is his role to regulate this relationship bringing harmonious balance in the husbandry of the forest. He watches over ancient forest and the grazing deer and horses" -Brian Froud
"To be wood," in medieval terms, meant to undergo a period of wildness even madness. In Shamanic initiation rites found all over the world entails going into the woods alone and learning to live like an animal,,speak like an animal,,to help understand the spirit of nature and our own wild nature."- Brain Froud

"The Green Man is a very ancient figure, found in abundance in Celtic countries carved into stone and wood work. He is also know all over the world as a vegetation god"

"Parallels have been drawn between the Green Man and various deities such as the British CelticLud, also known as Nodens. Many see him as being connected to the Mesopotamian Tammuz who is thought to symbolize the triumph of Life over Winter and Death, OsirisOdin, and even Jesus, as well as later folkloric and literary characters such as the Holly King.
A character superficially similar to the Green Man, in the form of a partly foliate mask surrounded by Bacchic figures, appears at the center of the 4th century silver salver in the Mildenhall Treasure, found at a Roman villasite in Suffolk, England; the mask is generally agreed to represent Neptune or Oceanus and the foliation is of seaweed.
Mythical figures such as the Jewish (Elijah) and Muslim (Khidr) mystical prophet of eternal life, CernunnosSylvanusDerg CorraGreen GeorgeJack in the greenJohn BarleycornRobin GoodfellowPuck, and the Green Knight all partake of the Green Man's nature; it has also been suggested that the story of Robin Hood was born of the same mythology. A more modern embodiment is found in Peter Pan, who enters the civilized world from Neverland, clothed in green leaves. Even Father Christmas, who was often shown wreathed inivy in early depictions, has been suggested as a similar woodland spirit.
The Green Knight of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight serves as both monster and mentor to Sir Gawain, belonging to a pre-Christian world which seems antagonistic to, but is in the end harmonious with, the Christian one.
In the Germanic nations, such as GermanyIceland, and England, depictions of the Green Man could have been inspired by deities such as Freyr or Odin, as both have many attributes of the later Green Men from throughout Europe."
Etymological research by the University of Wales into the meaning of the names of Celtic gods and goddesses shows that one CelticdeityViridios, has a name meaning "Green Man" in both the Celtic languages and Latin.
In Wicca, the Green Man has often been used as a representation of the Horned God, a syncretic deity that appropriates aspects of, among others, the Celtic Cernunnos and the Greek Pan.
Many forms of Neopaganism consider the green man to represent a common form of personal transformation in meditations or ritual. The icon of the face with leaves sprouting out is a representation of a personal visionary experience of "becoming" a green man or woman.
The Green Man is a recurring theme in literature. Sometimes the figure of Robin Hood is associated with a Green Man. Sir James Frazer mentions the tradition in "The Golden Bough". Kingsley Amis's novel The Green Man (1969) is based a modern incarnation of the ancient pagan monster. Stephen Fry wrote a pastiche of a poem called "The green man" as part of his novel The Hippopotamus."-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Man

"The Green Man is a powerful wild synthesis of man and plant, the vegetative counterpart of humanity, the hidden aspect of mankind."- Brain Froud

Green Man

by Alan G. Hefner
A legendary pagan deity who roams the woodlands of the British Isles and Europe. He usually is depicted as a horned man peering out of a mask of foliage, usually the sacred oak. He is known by other names such as "Green Jack, "Jack-in-the-Green" and "Green George." He represents spirits of trees, plants and foliage. It is believed he has rain making powers to foster livestock with lush meadows. He was frequently depicted in medieval art, including church decorations.Green George, as he is usually called in spring Pagan rites, is represented by a young man dressed head to foot in greenery, who leads the festival procession. In various festivals, Green George, or an effigy of him, is dunked in a river or pond to ensure that there will be enough rain to make the meadows and pastures green. It is also believed by some the Green Man shares an affinity with the forest-dwelling fairies since green is the fairy color. In some locals of the British Isles the fairies are called "Greenies" and "Greencoaties." In the myth of "The Fairy Children," there appears two fairy children, a brother and a sister, who have green skin and claim to be of a race with green skin beings.  -http://www.pantheon.org/articles/g/green_man.html

Green Man-Thing rising from the waters of the subconscious..to burn those who know fear.
Marvel comic's green Man-Thing walks a swamp that is the Nexus point of reality....

The Om-Point.
Marvel's "Man-Thing":  First appeared in the black-and-white magazine Savage Tales #1, cover dated May of 1971.
DC's "Swamp-Thing": First appeared in House of Secrets #92, cover dated June-July of 1971 (meaning it hits the stands in June).
"Since comic books typically took about three or four months to create fromstart to finish, it's highly unlikely that DC Comics could have turned around a knockoff in only two months.  It wasn't impossible, especially since Swamp Thing's debut was only an eight page story within a larger anthology title, but...as I said...highly unlikely." -Mark Engblom "COMIC COVERAGE"

DC Comic's "The Swamp Thing" at first was presented as a man turned plant monster,,then was later realized to be a Earth Elemental with the soul of a man.

Rising from the same subconscious waters as the Man-thing 1st issue..and they look like they know fear to me.

Splashing around in the waters of the subconscious with the Thoth Cranes and Underworld Green Frogs.
"In his A Little Book of The Green Man, as well as his website, Mike Harding gives examples of similar figures in BorneoNepal, andIndia: the earliest is a foliate head from an 8th century Jain temple in Rajasthan. He also notes that heads from Lebanon and Iraqcan be dated to the 2nd century and that there are early Romanesque foliate heads in 11th century Templar churches in Jerusalem. He tentatively suggests that the symbol may have originated in Asia Minor and been brought to Europe by travelling stonecarvers.
Tom Cheetham, an authority on Islamic mysticism, identifies Khidr of esoteric Sufism with the Green Man. In his book about the work ofHenry Corbin and others concerning the 12th-century Muslim saint Ibn Arabi, he develops the idea of the Green Man/Khidr as the principle mediating between the imaginary realm and the physical world.

Osiris, lord of the dead. His green skin symbolizes re-birth.
On a similar theme, author on spirituality and architecture William Anderson writes:
There are legends of him (Khidr) in which, like Osiris, he is dismembered and reborn; and prophecies connecting him, like the Green Man, with the end of time. His name means the Green One or Verdant One, he is the voice of inspiration to the aspirant and committed artist. He can come as a white light or the gleam on a blade of grass, but more often as an inner mood. The sign of his presence is the ability to work or experience with tireless enthusiasm beyond one's normal capacities. In this there may be a link across cultures, …one reason for the enthusiasm of the medieval sculptors for the Green Man may be that he was the source of every inspiration.
In one of his roles the ancient Egyptian God Osiris is regarded as a corn-deity and is commonly depicted with a green face representing vegetation, rebirth and resurrection. Containers of soil in the shape of Osiris planted with seed ("Osiris Beds") are found in some New Kingdom tombs. The sprouting corn implied the resurrection of the deceased.
Other gods depicted green are (in Tibet) Amogha-siddhi and (in Mexico) Tlaloc.
In Sanskrit the Green Man is cognate with the gana Kirtimukha or "Face Of Glory" which is related to a lila ofShiva and Rahu. The Face of Glory is often seen in Vajrayana Buddhist Thanka art and iconography where it is often incorporated as a cloudform simulacrum; and depicted crowning the 'Wheel of Becoming' or the Bhavachakra."-WIkipedia
"Osiris represented the Sun at night under the world..the Egyptians knew the Earth was round, and understood the Presentation of the equinox." -Santos Bonacci
"Osiris is not only a merciful judge of the dead in the afterlife, but also the underworld agency that granted all life, including sprouting vegetation and the fertile flooding of the Nile River. He is described as the "Lord of love", "He Who is Permanently Benign and Youthful"and the "Lord of Silence". The Kings of Egypt were associated with Osiris in death — as Osiris rose from the dead they would, in union with him, inherit eternal life through a process of imitative magic. By the New Kingdom all people, not just pharaohs, were believed to be associated with Osiris at death if they incurred the costs of the assimilation rituals." -Wikipedia
"Hanuman appears in green, like the color of Rama, his Lord and master. "
"Osiris is represented in his most developed form of iconography wearing the Atef crown, which is similar to the White crown of Upper Egypt, but with the addition of two curling ostrich feathers at each side (see also Atef crown (hieroglyph)). He also carries the crook and flail. The crook is thought to represent Osiris as a shepherd god. The symbolism of the flail is more uncertain with shepherds whip, fly-whisk, or association with the god Andjety of the ninth nome of Lower Egypt proposed.
He is commonly depicted as a green (the color of rebirth) or black (alluding to the fertility of the Nile floodplain) complexioned pharaoh, in mummiform (wearing the trappings of mummification from chest downward). He is also depicted although quite rarely as a lunar god with a crown encompassing the moon." -Wikipedia

With the term "Little Green Men" being synonymous with Extra Terrestrials in modern times as tales of goblins morphed into tales of E.T,,and "The Underworld" being a metaphor for the subconscious...AND a symbol for the "Night/Dark/Death" drawing subconscious fears into REBIRTH..I can see my view that the E.T. are I.T. , parts of our consciousness we thought as other,,to the point of it feeling "alien" are coming back into awareness.
